Education for the fashion illiterate

Ok. This is going to be a long post. Let's take this journey. I don't know much about fashion.
Besides my small little bubble of bloggers that I like, and my evolving personal style, I really just know fashion basics. If you asked me what are some talented  up-incoming designers, or asked me to name some designers that are influential to all of American women's closets, or what are your favorite fashion photographers, I would stutter and stammer and repeatedly state the non-word uhhhh, until I finally attempted to give an answer, and it would probably be  nondescript or irrelevant (to the current fashion world) leaving people confused, unimpressed or even disgusted in my lack of fashion knowledge. And I can't understand why I can give sufficient input for music, television, writers, celebrities and many other fields where you possibly can input knowledge, but not for fashion. To help fix this problem, I mostly rely on reading fashion publications.

To help aid me in my lack of fashion knowledge I've decided to dedicate some time to learn more about fashion.

Dior photography from FASHION: 150 Years of Courtiers, Designers, Labels. Collage making time! Mehhh, this one was okay. I'll make other ones, because I have different themes in mind.

What else can I say besides Merry Christmas?

My Christmas in pictures.

New Uggs for those chilly winter mornings.
Polo shirt, Thrifted Anne Klein blazer, Coach bag, H&M skirt, Target tights, Steve Maddens Shoes
Frilly things from PINK
New books.
Merry Christmas readers. After opening presents, I began to panic on deciding what to wear to my church's Christmas service. I never got to wear my new, thrifted blazer, so I picked that and a shirt as the base for my outfit. I would say my thought process while making this outfit was a colorful twist on a classy girl from a different time. The pearls, top handle bag, classic blazer, darling oxfords and the beret to top it off.. I would say early 1940's working woman now that I consider the inspiration.

I will be sure to post updates on the exquisite feast my mom is preparing.

Best Regards and Happy Holidays,

Golden Girls

One of my favorite trends of this season is the Baroque/Guided trend. I think the lavishness and luxury of that trend is what appeals to me, and as an average teen girl,I wouldn't get many opportunities to wear clothes like that? I wish I could, ya' know, just casually walk around in, haute coture masterpieces and have no one look at me like a mentally unstable individual, but  I don't have the funds to entertain my every fashion whim.*Sigh* Maybe someday. But if I did, you know people would be shocked:

Somewhat of a history buff, yes I am. I love the renaissance eras of Europe. From the rosy cheeked cherubs to the ivory  sculpted masterpieces, the art and fashion of that era (look up) never ceases to blow my mind.

Jeepers creepers

I want some weird creepers. Not run-of-the-mill black ones, ones that make you stop and scream "Jeepers Creepers!"

(Sorry, that pun sounded funnier in my head) here's my quest of finding the perfect pair.
